Homeopathy for First Aid
For aches, pains and sprains - try Arnica 30c - great for bruising or swelling
Puncture wounds, bites, stings, splinters - try Ledum 30c
Injury to the coccyx - alternate Hypericum and Arnica
Trapped your fingers in the door? - try Hypericum 30c
Remember homeopathy is all about the minimum dose - using as little of the medicine as possible to stimulate the body's own healing. If things begin to improve stop taking the remedy unless improvement stalls and the symptom picture is still the same. Sometimes the remedy picture is different and another remedy may be required - this is often the case with coughs and colds - a dry cough becomes loose for example. Please ask if you are in any doubt - remember do not attempt to treat any long term or chronic condition yourself.

Illness in children can be very concerning. Temperatures can rise and fall very quickly, and often it is difficult to tell what the actual problem is when a child is too young to tell you. Homeopathic treatment should always work alongside services offered by your GP.
If your child is spiking temperatures of over 40C and this continues please ensure you seek medical assistance when necessary. Most fevers though are mild to moderate and generally seen as a good thing! Fever is the body's mechanism for activating the immune system and enhancing body defences. Medical attention should be sought for very young children who experience a drop in temperature. Please ensure your child remains hydrated. Dehydration can happen very quickly in young children.
"Most childhood infections and illness are seen (homeopathically) as a good thing! This allows the immune system to develop. The analogy of exercise to keep your heart healthy is a good one - we all want a strong immune system for future good health, as much as a strong, healthy heart".
"Antibiotics are only useful for bacterial and fungal infections. They do not work on viruses. Most childhood ear infection for example will only be shortened by a day or two with antibiotic treatment.
Antibiotics also strip the body of good bacteria leaving the child open to further illness and infection. Antibiotics do of course have their place and can be life-saving. They should however be used with caution". Joanne Brown
